Karori is well served by the No. 2 bus from central Wellington. The Sunday timetable is based on 15 minute intervals from 10.00am, in both directions. The bus stop is 150 metres from the Main Gates to the Cemetery.
PARKING

We strongly recommend you take advantage of the car parking area on Rosehaugh Avenue (off Old Karori Road), rather than parking within the Cemetery itself.  There is also on-street parking on Rosehaugh Avenue, and the upper part of Seaforth Terrace. Refer to map for guidance.
Rosehaugh Avenue is best accessed via the traffic lights at the intersection of Chaytor Street and Old Karori Road, where there is a right filter at the lights from Chaytor Street  into Old Karori Road, and easy access to Rosehaugh Avenue on the left 150 metres from the traffic lights.
Exit from Rosehaugh Avenue is best via Seaforth Terrace, where there is reasonable visibility at the intersection onto Old Karori Road. Refer to map for guidance.
There is walking access into the cemetery from Rosehaugh Avenue  alongside the Main Chapel.

Vehicle access to the cemetery
The main entrance to the Cemetery is on the intersection of Chaytor Street, Karori Road and Old Karori Road, adjacent to the Karori Fire Station. Although the intersection is controlled by traffic lights, with a right filter from Chaytor Street to Old Karori Road, the sight lines both entering and exiting the Cemetery are difficult, because of poor visibility, a traffic queue that builds up on Old Karori Road, and fast-moving traffic from Karori Road onto Old Karori Road .
The main entrance is a major choke point - it is narrow and serves vehicles both entering and exiting the cemetery simultaneously.
The only other vehicle access gates at Standen Street and Seaforth Terrace are both closed on Sunday.
There is roadside parking within the cemetery, although no dedicated car parks. Take care when parking to not obstruct the roadway (some are narrow) or the visibility of drivers at intersections within the cemetery.
There will be two major no-parking zones designated within the cemetery during the event (refer to map).
The speed limit within the cemetery is 20kph.

Pedestrian movements
People will be walking to and from various points in the cemetery throughout the event, using the roads. Drivers and pedestrians are both requested to remain alert and take care at all times.
